Position Overview The Receiving Manager is responsible for leading and optimizing all inbound warehouse operations, including dock receipt, unpacking, confirm receipt verification, and system check-in of inventory within the Warehouse Management System (WMS). This role oversees a team of inbound associates and ensures accuracy, efficiency, and timely processing of incoming goods. The Receiving Manager serves as a key cross-functional partner, communicating inventory status, exceptions, and escalations to Sales and other warehouse teams.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience leading teams in a warehouse or distribution environment.
  • Prior experience leading in inbound, receiving, or dock operations strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience managing people, workflows, and performance metrics.
  • 4+ years of experience managing frontline teams in an operations environment.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Working knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and RF scanning tools.
  • Comfortable analyzing metrics and data to drive improvement strategies.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues and implement effective solutions quickly.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of inbound/receiving associates.
  • Set clear performance expectations and provide ongoing feedback.
  • Drive accountability, engagement, and a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee all receiving activities including dock scheduling, unloading, unboxing, inspection, and put-away readiness.
  • Ensure accurate verification of incoming shipments against contracts and documentation.
  • Manage timely and accurate check-in of inventory into the WMS.
  • Monitor KPIs such as receiving accuracy, throughput, and dock-to-stock time.
  • Identify process gaps and implement improvements to increase efficiency and reduce errors.
  • Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Act as the primary point of contact for inbound inventory status.
  • Partner with Sales, Inventory Control, and other warehouse teams to communicate delays, discrepancies, and priorities.
  • Escalate issues such as shortages, damages, or mis-shipments in a timely manner.
  • Escalation of High priority consignment for upcoming Auctions
  • Investigate and resolve receiving discrepancies and exceptions.
  • Coordinate with Consignment Directors, Account Managers, and other warehouse peers
  • Maintain accurate records of issues and resolutions.
  • Enforce all safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
