Job Title: Receiving Inspector Reporting To: Manager, Supplier Quality Work Schedule: Onsite – Blacksburg, VA To be considered for a Receiving Inspector role, here’s what you’ll need to bring with you: High School diploma or GED preferred. Otherwise, demonstrated ability to understand and apply all verbal, written and computer work instructions or training in English, and demonstrated ability to perform simple addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. At least 3 years of Manufacturing experience including 1 year of inline inspection or final inspection experience. To be proficient in basic computer skills Must have experience using standard mechanical measuring devices (calipers, micrometers, digital indicators, various gauges, etc.) Demonstrated experience reading blueprints and the ability to understand and interpret purchase orders and certification requirements and supplier provided data. As a Receiving Inspector, you will: Work from complex drawings. Perform inspection and test procedures. Demonstrates knowledge of documentation procedures related to manufacturing and quality of hardware. Proficient in basic computer skills, i.e. Word, Excel, Data Entry as required. Proficient using Connect/ERP/ETQ to collect data and maintain inspection criteria and information. Maintain Receiving records / documentation and job files as required, to include creation and maintenance of job summary cards for inspection criteria. Process incoming material per Standard Procedures and Quality Assurance Procedures as required. Assists in training / cross-training of others. Participate in Continuous Improvement Process. Work with minimal supervision, i.e. able to establish priorities to meet deadlines. Demonstrates ability to use a wide variety of precision measuring instruments. Initiate non-conforming documentation for parts not meeting requirements. With assistance from Quality Engineering and other stakeholders, establish and perform to inspection plans. Perform other duties as assigned.
