About The Position

The Receiving Inspector systematically and physically performs hands on visual and dimensional inspection of incoming parts and materials, assessing compliance with standards, specifications, and control drawings in accordance with Avex’s RS/QCM, FAA Regulations and the Customer’s General Maintenance Manual. Read and comply with instructions and safety information as necessary for proper and safe completion of assigned work.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or GED
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Must obtain all Regulatory, Customer and Aviation Exteriors Louisiana, Inc.’s required mandatory qualifications and training.
  • Must be fluent in spoken and written English, Spanish a plus.
  • Proficiency in software applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook as well as the company’s inventory management software and the customer’s inventory management systems.
  • Attention to detail with ability to follow established procedures.
  • Perform multiple technical tasks with the ability to upgrade skills to meet changing job conditions

Responsibilities

  • Performs inspection of incoming aircraft parts and materials in accordance with applicable standards, specifications and control drawings when applicable.
  • Performs both visual and dimensional inspections properly and accurately.
  • Enters data into the computer system in a timely manner.
  • Identifies and separates non-compliant items for return.
  • Identifies shelf-life limits on chemicals and materials coming into Avex.
  • Files and retrieves parts certifications in a timely manner.
  • Prepares necessary records such as inspection documentation, logs, rejection reports or other records thoroughly, legibly and in a timely manner.
  • Interprets technical data and certificates.
  • Researches and retrieves technical data as necessary.
  • Maintains an updated, current knowledge of technical information and inspection techniques and requirements through adequate research and technical reading.
  • Reads instructions and safety information, follows safety procedures, and wears and utilizes appropriate safety equipment for the work being performed.
  • Communicates effectively in English regarding work activities, per FAA requirements.
  • Interfaces with purchasing and accounting to resolve issues.
  • Checks the quality and quantity of each product before stocking them.
  • Maintains and manages records.
  • Uses forklift and/or pallet stacker to load, unload, and move materials as needed.
  • Operate company vehicles for transportation or material pick up as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
