About The Position

We're the largest U.S. manufacturer of shell and tube heat exchangers, including replacement tube bundles, channels and shells. Job Summary: Perform inspections, checks, tests, and sampling procedures of incoming materials, parts and components used in the manufacture of shell and tube heat exchangers. Ensures material received is properly inspected against pertinent documentation and appropriately distributed. Assist in the preparation of materials and products for shipping.

Requirements

  • H.S. diploma or equivalent, knowledge of fabrication shop practices, acceptable equipment operation training.
  • Read and write English language. Read and interpret drawings, bills of material, mill tests reports, and shipping/receiving documents.
  • Mechanical aptitude required.

Responsibilities

  • Receives incoming parts/materials and verifies Bill of Materials with vendor paperwork.
  • Appropriately identifies materials for release to a material handler.
  • Performs visual and dimensional inspections of materials for compliance to fabrication drawings, Codes and customer specifications.
  • Perform inspections according to well defined criteria using standard physical, mechanical and/ or electrical measurements.
  • Generates Non Conformance Reports for out of tolerance issues and follows-up on disposition and corrective actions to the NCRs.
  • Accurately documents the results of inspections and testing.
  • Processes and turns in receiving paperwork to office daily.
  • Prepares for shipment of miscellaneous components/parts as well as heat exchangers and bundles.
  • Engages in truck loading and unloading as required.
  • Performs assigned tasks in a safe manner, avoiding all unsafe practices.
  • Performs internal quality control by using and applying acceptable standards.
  • Sets up and performs tasks based on shop practices and procedures.
  • Evaluates problems and makes initial recommendations for possible corrective actions to supervisor.
  • Communicates and works well with other areas of manufacturing.
  • Completes additional duties as assigned.
