BAE Systems is looking for a self-motivating Incoming Inspector to join their exciting team in Wayne, NJ. The Incoming Inspector will report to the Quality Manager and perform the following tasks: Uses predetermined methods, operations, setups and prescribed specifications to visually inspect in-process and completed products such as electronic units and subsystems, precision electromechanical assemblies or mechanical units, subassemblies, structural flaws, internal defects, and missing welds. Uses various measuring devices and testing equipment. Accepts, rejects, or reworks defective or malfunctioning units or systems. Works from blueprints, diagrams, dial indicators, preset micrometers, scales, fixtures, customer, regulatory and BAE specifications, drawing or inspection instructions and checklists. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures. Performs line clearances after each lot to ensure all materials from the previous lot have been removed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 0-3+ years inspection experience, 1-3+ years preferred
  • Ability to read, interpret and inspect technical specifications and engineering drawings
  • Ability to read and understand military standards, process sheets and other documentation related to the inspection of printed wiring boards, electrical and mechanical piece parts and assemblies.
  • Proficient in the use of mechanical inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, and go/no go gauges
  • Proficient computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Candidate must be able to demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills and work with a multidisciplinary team

Nice To Haves

  • Certified in IPC 600 and IPC-A-610
  • Strong computer skills
  • Microsoft Office and paperless Quality Management System software (such as TipQA, Net-Inspect, etc.)
  • Ability to conduct preliminary review of technical data supplied with hardware shipments
  • Ability to use XRF equipment and interpret results
  • 5-8 years inspection experience with the ability to read, interpret and inspect technical part drawings, military standards, process sheets and other documentation related to the inspection of printed wiring boards, electrical and mechanical piece parts and assemblies.
