Receiving Inspectors must understand or quickly learn FAA regulations and VT SAA procedures for inspecting incoming materials, parts, and components. Familiarity with compliance standards and inspection processes is essential to ensure safety and quality for customer aircraft.

Requirements

  • Operates independently within established policies; success measured by results.
  • Requires strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration across teams and departments.
  • Primarily office-based in a climate-controlled environment; must manage stress from deadlines, multiple projects, and occasional long hours.
  • Eligible for FAA Repairman Certificate; FAA A&P preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience or required OJT per PPM QC-001.

Nice To Haves

  • FAA A&P preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect incoming materials for visible or hidden damage.
  • Verify tags, certifications, and documentation meet all applicable federal regulations.
  • Check that sealants, adhesives, and rubber goods are within manufacturer shelf-life limits.
  • Ensure all materials are properly packed and stored for safety and compliance.
  • Identify and process suspected unapproved parts in accordance with RSM 5.5.12.
  • Complete and maintain all required training for customers and VT-SAA standards.
  • Be flexible to work first or second shift, overtime, and Saturdays as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as directed by the Manager Quality Control/Chief Inspector
