About The Position

This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will execute receiving inspection methodologies to support the manufacture, assembly, and test for various spaceflight systems. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight. We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Requirements

  • A minimum of 7 years experience in receiving or dimensional inspection of aerospace components.
  • Intermediate/ Expert GD&T comprehension per ASME Y14.5M-1994 standard.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Fluent in the use of precision hand tools, gages, optical comparator, and surface plate work.
  • Ability to select the correct tool for the inspection task
  • Familiar with the use of personal computers.
  • Self-motivation and ability to prioritize projects to meet completion dates

  • Inventory system knowledge
  • Purchase order system management
  • Basic machining knowledge
  • Experience operating heavy lifting equipment such as cranes and forklifts around flight critical hardware
  • Outside processing knowledge (heat treat, plating, coating, EDM, grinding, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Inspect material per inspection plan such as dimensions, part marking and traceability.
  • Review all supplied documentation for hardware acceptance per engineering requirements.
  • Perform review of first articles and conduct receiving inspections.
  • Provide feedback to engineers and buyers with dimensional data.
  • Document, track, and complete discrepancy reports.
  • Provide inspection time estimates.
  • Assist with maintaining and tracking all inspection equipment calibrations.
  • Contribute to process improvements.
  • Maintain configuration control on files and job records.
  • Safely work within an industrial environment.
