The Receiving Clerk receives all incoming goods and check against delivery orders and invoices, food specifications and purchase records to ensure that the type, amount, price and quality of items received and ordered are correct.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of purchasing or procurement experience, preferably in a luxury hotel or resort.
  • Excellent personal presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong time management skills: ability to multi-task, set priorities, and adjust to changing conditions. Willing to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to operate all computer equipment necessary to perform the job.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work closely with other departments and communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues and guests.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs., and move carts or dollies weighing up to 150 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and inspect all incoming goods to ensure correct quantity, quality, and price against purchase orders and delivery invoices.
  • Accurately record daily receiving activity in the Purchasing/Inventory system and maintain organized records of all purchase orders and deliveries.
  • Verify that food and beverage deliveries meet safety, freshness, and temperature standards.
  • Coordinate delivery of all goods to the correct storage or department, ensuring security and organization at the loading dock and storerooms.
  • Report and document any shortages, damages, or discrepancies and coordinate returns or credits as needed.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and food safety in all receiving and storage areas.
  • Assist with month-end and quarterly inventory counts as needed.
  • Work collaboratively and professionally with vendors, team members, and leadership to support smooth daily operations.
