About The Position

AquaPhoenix Scientific, located in Hanover, PA, has an opening for an experienced Receiving and Inventory Specialist. This is a full-time, first-shift, hourly position, that reports to the Logistics Manager. Primary responsibilities include ensuring the efficient flow of inbound freight, verification of products against packing/order slips, and the accurate recording of goods into the inventory system. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate that has an “can-do” attitude, the ability to multi-task, and can maintain the highest standards of safety, accuracy, and efficiency. This is a key role in our growing logistics team, responsible for the accurate recording and timely receiving of critical inbound freight. Effective internal and external communications will be extremely important. AquaPhoenix is an industry leader in water testing kits and reagent manufacturing, as well as a distributor of thousands of testing products and supplies for a multitude of industries including industrial water treatment, cleaning & sanitation, oil & gas, environmental, water conditioning, and education.

Requirements

  • Minimum a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Two years’ work experience in a shipping/receiving/logistics environment
  • Ability to maintain order and cleanliness in warehouse office, and storage areas
  • Proficient computer skills to understand and accurately input data/run reports using Company’s ERP software and Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, problem-solving, and analytical skills with an emphasis on calculating figures and amounts
  • Practice punctual and reliable attendance
  • Capacity to remain physically active with the ability to stand, stoop, bend, twist for long periods of time throughout the day and be able to safely carry and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with management and co-workers
  • Must pass background check and pre-employment drug screen as a condition of employment
  • Ability to pass operating and written test for forklift, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring the efficient flow of inbound freight
  • Verification of products against packing/order slips
  • Accurate recording of goods into the inventory system
  • Accurately receive, inspect, and verify content of inbound freight; ensure conformity with purchase order specifications, packing/inventory slips, and content
  • Report receiving or invoice discrepancies immediately; document and make recommendations to resolve
  • Input and update shipments in the ERP/Inventory system and use Microsoft Office applications daily
  • Accurately control the flow of incoming small parcel orders, shipments, and equipment
  • Verify, catalog, track, and sort incoming orders, shipments, and equipment, including order information, production condition, quantity, and contents
  • Safely operate a forklift, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment for material handling purposes
