About The Position

The Inventory Receiving Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the accurate and efficient intake of goods into the company’s inventory system. This position is responsible for verifying incoming shipments, inspecting products for quality and quantity, and updating inventory records to maintain data integrity. The specialist collaborates closely with warehouse, procurement, and logistics teams to streamline receiving processes and resolve discrepancies promptly. By maintaining meticulous records and adhering to company policies, the Inventory Receiving Specialist helps prevent stock shortages and supports overall supply chain efficiency. Ultimately, this role ensures that inventory is accurately accounted for, enabling the business to meet customer demands and operational goals effectively.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in inventory receiving, warehouse operations, or a related field.
  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with inventory management software or databases.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift and move inventory items as required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with barcode scanning and RFID technology.
  • Familiarity with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • Previous experience working in a fast-paced warehouse or distribution center environment.
  • Basic knowledge of supply chain and logistics principles.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy, quality, and damage according to purchase orders and company standards.
  • Verify quantities and product specifications, and document any discrepancies or issues with shipments.
  • Update inventory management systems promptly and accurately to reflect received goods.
  • Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure proper storage and handling of received inventory.
  • Communicate with suppliers and internal departments to resolve any receiving issues or discrepancies.
  • Maintain organized and detailed records of all received inventory and related documentation.
  • Assist in periodic inventory audits and cycle counts to ensure ongoing accuracy of stock levels.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and company policies during all receiving activities.
