The University of Virginia Library is seeking a Receiving and Cataloging Specialist in the Resource Acquisition & Description department. This position conducts routine receiving, processing, and cataloging of monographs from around the world. They will conduct quality control review of the materials and work with vendors to correct errors with shipments and invoices. They will communicate concerns or changes to vendors and requestors both internally and externally and will serve as a contact for questions about the availability of content. They will contribute to the maintenance of electronic orders and invoice records with Microsoft Office software. This work is done within the broader context of the Resource Acquisition & Description department, whose mission is to acquire and describe collection materials from around the world in support of the research and teaching at the University of Virginia.
