About The Position

Medicus Economics is a boutique health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) consulting firm. We partner with clients in the biopharmaceutical industry to tackle questions central to improving patient access to therapies. Our work is featured in peer-reviewed publications, scientific conferences, and submissions to health technology agencies worldwide. We are seeking a Real-World Data Analytics professional with strong SAS programming expertise and hands-on experience working with large real-world data sources, particularly health insurance claims such as Medicare, in HEOR studies of health care resource use, spending, and medication adherence. This role combines technical analytics with research and consulting responsibilities. You’ll contribute to study ideation, analytic specification, implementation, quality review, and dissemination of results.

Requirements

  • Advanced proficiency with SAS (BASE, MACRO, STAT, Proc SQL)
  • Substantive experience cleaning and analyzing real-world data (especially claims data)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively on multiple projects
  • Sustained attention to detail and high standards of quality
  • Applicants for employment must have work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States and with Medicus Economics.

Nice To Haves

  • Work experience in healthcare consulting or research
  • Graduate degree in health economics, epidemiology, statistics, or related field
  • Proficiency with R (Python, Stata also a plus)
  • Applied knowledge of RWD study design and statistical methodology

Responsibilities

  • Write, test, and maintain SAS programs for data management, cohort creation, and statistical analysis
  • Contribute to study protocols, analysis plans, and project reports
  • Review and document analytic code to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and reproducibility
  • Summarize findings for diverse audiences, including client deliverables, slide decks, and manuscripts
  • Support literature reviews and background research to provide context for studies
  • Collaborate with colleagues across all project phases, from design to dissemination
  • Assist senior staff with proposals and client communications

Benefits

  • At Medicus, you will be hands-on with the data, but you won’t be “just a programmer.” You’ll be part of a small, dynamic team where your work directly shapes client deliverables and impacts healthcare decisions. We offer a collegial environment, opportunities to learn and innovate, and the chance to contribute meaningfully from day one.
