About The Position

As a Real-Time Earth (RTE) Ground Station Engineer (GSE), you will join a high-functioning team of expert individuals who provide state-of-the-art Ground-Segment-as-a-Service (GSaaS) for commercial and government customers. The RTE GSE role is a multi-disciplinary role spanning the ability to work with RF and antenna hardware, software and network elements. As a Ground Systems Engineer you will be responsible for facilitating design, installation, configuration, maintenance, monitoring, and performance of the global RTE infrastructure. As a member of the RTE team the GSE role is two-fold: keep the fielded systems operational to ensure continued uninterrupted service to the RTE customer base; and to develop the RTE product to be more efficient via automation and improved workflow. This role is for a dynamic and changing environment, and the right candidate will excel in meeting challenges by creating processes and solving problems that may be unique to RTE.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in the design, assembly, maintenance or operation of RF systems, AC/DC circuits, servo motor controls, and modem/base-band equipment and the cables that interconnect these devices
  • Experience configuring vendor equipment remote control interfaces to communicate over a local area network
  • Experience in the operation of any of the following equipment: Multi-meter, Oscilloscope, Spectrum Analyzer, Signal Generator and Network Analyzer
  • Must be able to work independently and tackle complex problems in remote locations with minimal assistance
  • Proven communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field or equivalent experience
  • US Citizenship Required
  • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance or ability to obtain when administratively feasible
  • Ability to work on-site in our Duluth, GA facility
  • Travel up to but can exceed 10%

Nice To Haves

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance
  • Demonstrated experience with SATCOM or Remote Sensing Earth Observation type RF electronics, HPA's, Converters, LNA's, at S, X and Ka bands
  • Experience with testing G/T, EIRP, BERT and Servo Control loops
  • Experience with monitor and control computers and related subsystems
