About The Position

The Real Estate & Transit Relations Specialist serves as a key liaison between the organization, regional transit authorities, property owners, utilities, and internal business units. This role requires deep knowledge of real estate principles, strong business acumen, and the ability to navigate complex operational, regulatory, and stakeholder environments. The Specialist ensures contractual obligations are met, manages non‑transit inventory accounting, supports monthly stakeholder meetings, and resolves inquiries with professionalism and accuracy. Success in this position requires exceptional communication skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to balance multiple priorities while driving business results.

Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge of real estate principles and practices, including fieldwork, lead generation, negotiations, and regulatory application.
  • Understanding of the media and advertising industry, including business cycles, revenue drivers, and expense management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, decision‑making, and problem‑solving skills with a focus on achieving business results.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and respond to verbal and written requests and directives.
  • Professional and cooperative demeanor when interacting with internal teams, external partners, and vendors.
  • Ability to multi‑task and manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for regional transit authorities, maintaining strong, collaborative relationships.
  • Coordinate and facilitate monthly meetings with transit authorities in partnership with operations, finance, sales, and independent contractors.
  • Work closely with VP REPA, VP Operations, and operations supervisors to ensure all contractual obligations are fulfilled.
  • Assist with the management, accuracy, and maintenance of the internal inventory database.
  • Collaborate with the legal department as needed to address compliance, contractual, or regulatory matters.
  • Receive, triage, and resolve inquiries and complaints from landlords, property owners, the public, and city/government staff, ensuring timely and appropriate follow‑up.
  • Compile, prepare, and distribute required operational and financial reports.
  • Research, prepare, and obtain necessary permits for installations, conversions, and related activities.
  • Coordinate with utility providers to support operational needs and resolve service issues.
  • Attend and support monthly stakeholder meetings, providing updates, documentation, and follow‑through on action items.
  • Report on all liability claims and ensure proper documentation and communication across departments.
  • Oversee internal accounting for non‑transit assets, including new digital and printed panels, panel conversions, out‑of‑service units, unsaleable units, and delisting activities.
  • Lead and support special projects as assigned, ensuring timely execution and cross‑functional alignment.
  • Participate in community outreach efforts to strengthen relationships and support organizational initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested to support business operations.
