About The Position

Arena is a global investment management firm that seeks to generate attractive risk adjusted, consistent and uncorrelated returns by employing a fundamentals based, asset-oriented financing and investing strategy across the entire credit spectrum in areas where conventional sources of capital are scarce. Through originations and acquisitions of asset-oriented investments across a wide array of commercial and consumer asset types (including but not limited to private direct corporate and commercial real estate bridge lending), the investment team specializes in off-the-run, stressed, distressed, illiquid and esoteric special situation transactions. Arena’s investment team develops and designs investment structures to meet the unique needs of each opportunity. Arena is looking to expand the Real Estate team, through the addition of an Operations Analyst. In this role, this individual will act as the intermediary between all parties, both internal and external, in closing a transaction. This individual will communicate with internal compliance, internal operations, counterparties, banks, attorneys, and other vendors to answer questions and resolve any issues at closing and future funding. On the days leading up to and on the day of closing, this individual will interact with all parties to resolve any problems.

Requirements

A successful candidate should be detail-oriented and extremely well organized as well as a meticulous and focused analytical thinker.
They will have both strong business acumen and excellent communication and conflict-resolution skills.
Bachelor’s degree ideally in a quantitative area (e.g., finance, economics, accounting, engineering)
Excellent communication, time-management, and computer skills including use of Word and Excel
Strong attention to detail
Advanced math and calculation skills
The highest level of personal integrity and ethical standards.
A positive attitude, strong work ethic and a desire to work collaboratively across the organization.

Responsibilities

Communicate with internal and external counterparties such as borrowers, banks, attorneys, and other vendors to answer questions and resolve any issues throughout the investment life cycle.
Research and determine operational needs for potential investments
Coordinate a smooth closing process so all investments are funded on schedule
Resolve any operational issues that arise during the investment process
Work with Real Estate investment team to research and source new investment opportunities
Monitor investment performance after closing and assist with any requests
Manage internal workflow progression and Pipeline status updates to ensure various internal teams are fully prepared ahead of scheduled closes.
Participate regularly in weekly closing meetings, funding pipeline calls, and deal-specific working sessions to ensure operational readiness across internal teams.
Address and resolve various internal and external queries related to funding, documentation, deal data, and operational workflows.
Support KYC/AML onboarding and refresh cycles across new borrowers, counterparties, and legal entities by collecting required documents, coordinating with internal Compliance, and ensuring timely submission.
Navigate and manage multiple internal proprietary systems (i.e. pipeline) critical to Arena’s deal execution and servicing processes.
Maintain organized deal folders across internal systems ensuring all closing documents, updated agreements, and funding materials are saved in the correct locations.
Gather all required internal approvals and submit finalized documents for execution through DocuSign.
