Real Estate Internship Co-Op
We are hiring two interns: one intern for Spring-Summer 2027 and one intern for Summer-Winter 2027.

What You’ll Do: As a Real Estate Intern, you’ll work alongside experienced professionals in evaluating and managing our commercial mortgage loan portfolio. This internship is designed to provide exposure to real-world financial analysis, property evaluation, and investment strategy.

Requirements

• Pursuing a degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, or a related field.
• Junior or Senior status preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in Excel and comfortable working with financial data.
• Detail-oriented and willing to ask questions.
• Eager to learn and contribute in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.
• Be available to take the semester off to work full-time (8am-4:30pm Monday through Friday) to work in-person from our office in West Des Moines, IA.
• At this time, we are not considering candidates that need any type of immigration sponsorship now or in the future, such as additional or permanent work authorization.
• Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time, permanent basis.

Responsibilities

• Portfolio Analysis: Review and interpret annual operating statements, rent rolls, and borrower financials to assess property performance and loan risk.
• Investment Research: Conduct market and property-level analysis to support potential investment opportunities.
• Due Diligence Support: Assist in analyzing third-party reports such as appraisals, environmental assessments, and property condition reports.
• Project Assistance: Collaborate on ad hoc projects across the real estate team, contributing to presentations, data analysis, and reporting.
