We are now seeking an experience Real Estate Accounting Controller to join out growing accounting team!

Requirements

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • 2+ years of supervisory or team leadership experience
  • Property management or real estate accounting experience required
  • Yardi Voyager experience

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of 4–5 accounting professionals across a mix of in-office and remote staff
  • Own full-cycle property accounting for a large multifamily portfolio (80–90 properties and growing)
  • Drive GAAP-compliant financial reporting and oversee month, quarter, and year-end close
  • Manage general ledger activity, journal entries, bank reconciliations, and financial statement prep
  • Partner directly with property management teams and external stakeholders to support client deliverables
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting processes and support portfolio performance analysis
  • Oversee external payroll vendor coordination, insurance, and tax reporting workflows
  • Support onboarding of new properties and continuous process improvement initiatives
  • Utilize Yardi Voyager and advanced Excel to maintain reporting accuracy and operational efficiency
