We are now seeking an experience Real Estate Accounting Controller to join out growing accounting team!
Requirements
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- 2+ years of supervisory or team leadership experience
- Property management or real estate accounting experience required
- Yardi Voyager experience
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of 4–5 accounting professionals across a mix of in-office and remote staff
- Own full-cycle property accounting for a large multifamily portfolio (80–90 properties and growing)
- Drive GAAP-compliant financial reporting and oversee month, quarter, and year-end close
- Manage general ledger activity, journal entries, bank reconciliations, and financial statement prep
- Partner directly with property management teams and external stakeholders to support client deliverables
- Lead budgeting and forecasting processes and support portfolio performance analysis
- Oversee external payroll vendor coordination, insurance, and tax reporting workflows
- Support onboarding of new properties and continuous process improvement initiatives
- Utilize Yardi Voyager and advanced Excel to maintain reporting accuracy and operational efficiency
