About The Position

COTA's Real Estate Analyst will support the agency's LinkUS initiative by assisting with right-of-way acquisition activities across designated corridors. The Real Estate Analyst works collaboratively with internal teams, consultants, and external stakeholders to facilitate property acquisition processes, maintain accurate records, and ensure compliance with applicable regulations. Perform other duties in alignment with the COTA Strategic Plan and in support of the organization's vision to Move Every Life Forward.

Requirements

  • Required a bachelor's degree in real estate, urban planning, public administration or related field and zero-to-two (0-2) years' experience in a relevant internship, property management, underwriting or municipal planning role.

Nice To Haves

  • Right of Way Agent (RWA) or others from the International Right of Way Association (IRWA) preferred.
  • Certified Real Estate Analyst (CREA)
  • Real Property Administrator (RPA) preferred.
  • Ohio Real Estate Salesperson License preferred.
  • Certification in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the coordination and documentation of right-of-way acquisition activities for LinkUS corridors.
  • Supports the review and analysis of property appraisals, title reports, and conveyance documents.
  • Maintains and updates real estate databases and software systems to track acquisition progress and property data.
  • Conducts research on property ownership, zoning, and land use to support acquisition strategies.
  • Collaborate with Legal, Engineering, and Planning teams to ensure timely and accurate property transactions.
  • Prepares reports, maps, and presentations to communicate acquisition status and issues.
  • Participates in stakeholder meetings and assists with public outreach related to property acquisition.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations governing right-of-way acquisition and public transit development.
