What You Will Do Lead a team of property accountants, providing guidance, insight, and opportunity for growth and development. Manage accounting and financial analyses in one or more financial areas including auditing, budgeting, cost accounting, general accounting, and program cost control and scheduling. Be a driving resource to improve processes and communicate policies and procedures to team and other departments. Applying advanced accounting concepts, theories and principals to develop solutions to problems. Adhering to FASB guidelines and GAAP, company policies and procedures and other regulations in the performance of duties. Setting department and staff goals based on overall department or company goals. Providing advice as subject matter expert in the development of accounting software and property operating systems. Supervising assigned staff including hiring, training, overseeing and reviewing performance, promoting and terminating or reassigning. Performing technical reviews of complex joint venture accounting transactions, including drafting and finalizing Accounting whitepapers. Assisting with quarterly and annual technical accounting analyses. Assisting the reporting team during quarter end (as needed) Representing the Accounting team as the primary contact for explaining current period actual results to outside teams (FP&A, Operations Finance, etc.) Leading complex Corporate accounting functions including accruals, debt, equity, and cash flows. Assisting with monthly and quarterly fluctuation analyses and prepare key deliverables for Management team. Performing SOX control procedures, including performing walkthroughs and providing relevant information to internal and external auditors.
