About The Position
Colorado International Language Academy (CILA) is a public charter school offering rigorous academics through language immersion in Mandarin Chinese, German, and Spanish. Students receive strong English literacy instruction while developing global awareness, cultural understanding, and academic confidence. The Reading Interventionist supports elementary students who need additional support in reading. This position provides targeted small-group and individualized literacy intervention focused on foundational reading skills, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. The interventionist works collaboratively with classroom teachers, support staff, and administration to ensure instruction is aligned and responsive to student needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education, Reading, Literacy, or a related field
- Experience working with elementary-aged students
- Knowledge of evidence-based reading instruction and intervention strategies
- Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
Nice To Haves
- Colorado teaching license and/or reading endorsement
- Experience working with multilingual learners or diverse student populations
Responsibilities
- Provide small-group and individual reading intervention for elementary students
- Deliver instruction in phonics, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, and written language skills
- Administer and analyze literacy assessments to identify needs and monitor progress
- Use data to plan instruction and adjust interventions
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to align intervention with core instruction
- Maintain accurate records of student progress
- Participate in meetings, professional development, and school activities
- Perform other duties as assigned
