About The Position

GENERAL PURPOSE: (A brief statement indicating the reason for the existence of this position) The position is responsible to the Crew Leader for the timely manufacturing of resin batches to specified requirements. The Reactor Operator is required to work with other to produce a quality product in a safe manner PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: (The major activities or end results necessary to fulfill the position requirements on an ongoing basis) Complies with all rules, policies and procedures. Assist in making spreads, pulling/pushing buns. Conducts and logs daily inspections of work areas and equipment. Performs minor maintenance. Assists in cleanup of plant during down time. Be familiar with Solimide Foams’ Loss Control Policies Complete Reactor Operator Task list Complete Reactor Operator Daily Checklist Complete Forklift inspection and operate safely. Run assorted quality tests in lab. Makes resin batches. Moves raw materials from the warehouse to the production area. Loads, unloads and moves hazardous and non-hazardous waste and raw materials. Compact scrap foam. Write work orders. Performs other duties as assigned by the Crew Leader. Regular attendance is required. Ability to work in extreme and varying temperature and weather conditions is required. The operator is also required to follow batch procedures to assure quality product. NATURE & SCOPE: Qualifications – If you were transferred to a new position, list the specific education, skills, training, and relevant experience (in a similar or lower level position) that your replacement would need to qualify for this position. - High School education or equivalent - WAGE Certificate preferred for employees hired on or after January 1, 2004 - One-year experience in production type environment and an understanding of plant operations. - Operate a computer - Relates and interacts well with people at all levels in the company. - Requires walking, standing, use of hands and reaching for up to -12 hours per day. - Must be able to pull, push and lift weights up to 100 lbs. - Requires some manual dexterity with body flexibility. Requires normal vision and hearing. - Must be able to operate all types of basic factory & maintenance equipment. - Must be able to operate a fork truck and various saws. - Use of Windows based computer systems - Must be able to wear and function with all required PPE. - Pay Attention to details. - Good communication skills. Contacts – Identify the internal (departmental and company) or external (outside the company) contacts you are required to establish and maintain in order to perform the duties described. Describe the nature of these contacts. Internal: Reports to the Production Crew Leader and interacts daily with the Powder Operator, Saw Operator, QC Laboratory Technicians, Shipping and Maintenance personnel. Occasionally, will interact with the Operation Manager, Production Manager and other Office personnel. What types of decision are referred to other levels (how work flows to and from the position.) What sources of support and guidance are available to this position. Work flows to the Reactor Operator via communication from the Production Crew Leader, Production Manager, and Operation Manager. Work flows from the Reactor Operator to the Powder Operator, Saw Operator, Maintenance, QC, Shipping, and Production Crew Leader. Degree of authority delegated to this position: High Examples: Authorized to communicate directly with the employees at Solimide Foams, Inc. Authorized to make the necessary decisions required to produce a quality batch.

Requirements

  • High School education or equivalent
  • One-year experience in production type environment and an understanding of plant operations.
  • Operate a computer
