The Design Consultant works closely with customers to create individualized design solutions, selling Ethan Allen products and services. This includes space planning, fabric coordination, product selection, and overall project design. Success is measured by developing individualized designs and achieving sales goals in a flexible, relationship-based selling environment. Some projects may involve a team or partnership approach. Design Consultants are evaluated on performance categories such as teamwork, customer service, communication skills, decision making, project development, presentation, and technical skills, as well as benchmarks including Minimum Monthly Sales, Home Calls, Accent Sales, Softgood Sales, Be-Backs, PI, Close Ratio, and participation in the Ethan Allen Trade Program. Consultants are also expected to utilize social media to promote the Ethan Allen brand as outlined in the company's Social Media Policy.
