About The Position
The Payment Poster is responsible for posting insurance and patient payments, adjustments, and denials accurately and timely. This role ensures reconciliation between posted amounts, bank deposits, and payer remittances.
Requirements
- 1–2 years of payment posting experience.
- Ability to interpret EOBs/ERAs and apply payments accurately.
- Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.

Nice To Haves
- Experience with ophthalmology or retina posting.
- Familiarity with payer reimbursement methodologies.
- Familiarity with PM/EHR systems (e.g., Healthpac, NextTech, ModMed, ECW, Athena, MedInformatics, AdvancedMD).
Responsibilities
- Retrieve ERAs/EOBs and accurately post payments by DOS and CPT line.
- Post adjustments using correct contractual or administrative codes.
- Apply denial codes and route incomplete claims for follow-up.
- Balance deposits with posted totals.
- Identify underpayments or variance trends for escalation.
- Clear unapplied payments by end of day.
- Maintain payment logs and upload remits to accounts.
- Assist with month-end reconciliation and reporting.
