Requirements

  • 3-5 years Material planning-releasing in an Automotive Tier 1 environment
  • At least 2 years of coil steel planning or purchasing experience
  • Knowledge and experience of a production metal stamping facility
  • Experience in scheduling
  • Ability to access data stored on computer, LAN (Local Area Network) and PC (Personal Computer) applications
  • Good Personal Computer skills (Lotus 123, Microsoft Excel, WordPerfect and/or Microsoft Word)
  • Ability to read, write and speak English
  • Good, simple math skills required
  • Individual must have good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work with limited supervision and to accomplish tasks on a timely basis
  • Ability to work overtime as needed
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • BA/BS Degree required

Nice To Haves

  • Logistics experience is preferred
  • APICS (American Production & Inventory Control Society) MRP or MRP II (Material Release Point) system implementation

Responsibilities

  • Manage all raw material planning related activities from planning coils, purchased components, blanks, and assist the Receiving Supervisor with management
  • Responsibility for proper handling, storage, packing, preservation and delivery of both material and product per control plans utilizing TS16949 & IATF16949 documented systems and authority to initiate appropriate action necessary to prevent non-conformance to customer specifications
  • Manage and coordinate all coil steel activities to ensure that all production requirements and proper inventory levels are met
  • Issue Coil Steel Release requirements to suppliers
  • System cycle counts as directed
  • Attend daily production meeting
  • Coordinate and schedule in-bound coil deliveries
  • Monitor and measure supplier delivery performance
  • Assist Receiving Supervisor with in house coil inventory management
  • Housekeeping and other activities as required
