We are looking for: A Raw Material Distribution Buyer who will provide effective development and implementation of purchasing strategies developed by the Global RMD Manager. The Raw Material Distrubtion Buyer will manage a raw material portfolio purchased through Distributors with a direct impact to the profitability of Syensqo in North America. This position will deliver financial value through sourcing strategies, managing the distributors, and developing strategic actions to improve total costs. In addition, the role is also responsible to provide supplier market expertise to the worldwide network of Raw Material Buyers for Syensqo including rigorous forecasting of short and long term price trends and availability.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Supply Chain, Economics, Business or related field
Proactive in attacking challenges and confident in setting and achieving stretch goals
An accomplished negotiator with the demonstrated ability to win value in situations where suppliers may possess greater leverage.
Adept at using numerical and business analysis to influence organizational and business decisions.
Proven ability to interact and influence all levels internally and with suppliers.
Ability to communicate and present ideas concisely in a multicultural environment.
Expertise in supply contract design and experience in achieving best in class language for commercial standard terms (e.g. competitive price provisions, force majeure, KPIs, etc.).
Ability to assess economic trends and conditions as they may impact the supply markets.

Nice To Haves

MBA a plus
Experience in Sales/Marketing in the specialty chemical industry a plus.
SAP knowledge a plus

Responsibilities

Various chemicals sourced through Distributors
Cost/EBITDA Targets, CASH improvement, Total Cost of Ownership
Forecasting Feedstock and Raw Material Cost and Trends to Syensqo Raw Material network
Contract & Vendor Management Portfolio
Be a member and sometimes lead Innovation Teams, Project Teams, and/or Global Raw Material Projects
Complete Quarterly RFQ's using e-sourcing tools utilized by the group

Competitive salary and benefits
The U.S. base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this position is $95,000.00 to $130,000.00 per year. Since actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted base salary range. Total compensation for this role also includes bonus and/or other incentives.
