About The Position

VSolvit is seeking a highly analytical and detail-driven Rate Adjustment Analyst to support government contract billing and annual indirect rate true-up processes. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the financial accuracy and compliance of cost-type contracts by preparing and reconciling retroactive rate adjustments in accordance with FAR regulations and contractual requirements. The Rate Adjustment Analyst partners closely with Project Managers, Contracts, and Accounting to validate billed costs, reconcile indirect rate variances, and produce audit-ready documentation. This position requires strong attention to detail, a solid understanding of indirect rate structures (Fringe, Overhead, G&A), and experience working within project-based accounting environments such as JAMIS. As with any position, additional expectations exist. Requirements

  • 5-10 years of experience supporting government contract billing, project accounting, or rate analysis in a government contracting environment
  • Working knowledge of cost-type contracts (CPFF strongly preferred) and related billing requirements
  • Understanding of indirect rate structures, including Fringe, Overhead, and G&A, and how they apply to contract billing
  • Experience preparing or supporting annual indirect rate true-ups and retroactive billing adjustments
  • Proficiency in project-based accounting or ERP systems (JAMIS or similar system)
  • Strong Excel skills, including ability to work with large data sets, reconciliations, pivot tables, and detailed reporting
  • High attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies and resolve issues independently
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across Finance, Contracts, and Program teams

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using JAMIS Prime ERP
  • Familiarity with FAR, CAS, and DCAA audit requirements
  • Experience supporting incurred cost submissions or audit preparation
  • Knowledge of revenue recognition principles in government contracting environments
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
  • Experience working in a small-to-mid-sized government contractor environment
  • Ability to analyze trends in indirect rate performance and provide insights to leadership

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and process annual and retroactive rate adjustment invoices in JAMIS
  • Validate billed costs, retention, and indirect rate adjustments
  • Review detailed billing transactions and reconcile invoice amounts
  • Generate supporting labor and non-labor reports for PM review
  • Coordinate with Project Managers, Contracts, and Accounting
  • Ensure audit-ready documentation and compliance with FAR requirements
