About The Position

Promotes the safety, healing, and empowerment of victims of domestic abuse through the implementation of supportive housing advocacy. Provides case management for survivors of domestic violence referred to HDNBC through the Coordinated Access System (CAS). Works collaboratively with Housing Forward, landlords, and community partners to ensure clients receiving Housing Forward rental and utility assistance achieve stability, independence, and long-term housing retention.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field required. Experience may be used in lieu of a degree.
  • Knowledge of Coordinated Access System (CAS) and Housing Forward processes preferred.
  • Experience preparing and submitting rental/utility documentation for housing programs.
  • Experience in crisis intervention, casework services, counseling, advocacy, legal systems, and coordination of services, preferably in area of family violence, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities considered.
  • Proficiency with technology, including Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft 365 , cloud based storage systems, and file management software is strongly preferred.
  • Valid Texas Driver's License
  • Knowledge and understanding of the dynamics of domestic violence affecting individuals and families.
  • Knowledge of trauma informed care and/or trauma theory.
  • Knowledge of de-escalation techniques when working with clients.
  • Knowledge of social services program development, administration, and delivery.
  • Knowledge of social service resources and agencies in the community.
  • Knowledge of personnel and management supervision.
  • Experienced in field of trauma services (domestic violence, child abuse, sexual violence).
  • Experience responding to varying cultural, ethnic, and social backgrounds as well as to the varying value systems, attitudes, and languages.
  • Ability to community effectively, both orally and in writing in English.
  • Ability to analyze, develop, and implement program changes effectively.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective and professional working relationships with clients and community members.
  • Ability to utilize Microsoft applications effectively and learn Salesforce CRM.
  • Ability to work well under stressful circumstances.
  • Ability to work some evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Supports a victim-centered and trauma informed advocacy approach with compassion, empathy, and care.
  • Collaborate with Housing Forward and landlords to support clients' tenancy but do not handle direct payments - rent is managed by Housing Forward.
  • Conduct intake and individualized needs assessments for CAS-referred clients.
  • Provide monthly case management, including home visits, office visits, or virtual check-ins.
  • Connect clients with supportive services such as counseling, legal advocacy, childcare, transportation, and employment assistance
  • Develop and monitor individualized service plans with clients, focusing on safety, housing stability, and long-term independence.
  • Conduct regular home visits at least once monthly (additional as needed).
  • Document services, client progress, and outcomes in Salesforce accurately and on time.
  • Prepare rental assistance requests and utility assistance requests in compliance with Housing Forward requirements.
  • Submit documentation to Housing Forward for processing of payments.
  • Monitor payment schedules and communicate with clients and landlords to ensure timely resolution of issues.
  • Support clients in understanding lease terms, tenant responsibilities, and landlord communication.
  • Participate in Housing Forward and Collin County Homeless Coalition meetings to coordinate services.
  • Maintain accurate and timely client records in Salesforce, including case notes, service plans, and outcome tracking.
  • Ensure compliance with funder requirements and agency policies.
  • Provide reports and updates as required by HDNBC and Housing Forward.
  • Maintains current licensure and/or certifications and group affiliations if that applies to the successful candidate.
  • Attends professional workshops/conferences to enhance advocacy skills in the field of family violence.
  • Adheres to state law and professional ethical principles.
  • Complies with the advocacy services program policy and procedures.
  • Participates in agency events.
  • Other duties as assigned.
