About The Position

Road & Rail Services Job Title: QMI Certified Railcar Mechanic What will you be doing? Make general repairs to railroad cars using various tools including cutting torch, grinder and welder. No prior railcar repair experience needed but helpful. Are you qualified? Areas of Responsibility: Comply with all industry, customer and company safety regulations and operating procedures Ensure that management is aware of current conditions and needed repair of all company equipment Notify site management of "bad order" (unserviceable) equipment Perform authorized repairs to customer, company and industry specification Document all repairs, properly accounting for actual time and parts utilized Operate various types of mechanical equipment including forklifts, spotter trucks, etc.. Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED or Ability
  • Safety first mentality
  • Valid state driver's license

Nice To Haves

  • Existing QMI certification preferred
