From the first mile to the last, we’re reimagining American rail. For more than 160 years, Siemens has advanced mobility in the U.S. Today, we’re bringing true high-speed rail to life in Upstate New York. Our new Horseheads, NY manufacturing campus—nearly 300,000 square feet—will employ about 300 professionals across assembly, quality, production, testing, program management, supply chain, and logistics. Join us as we build the first high-speed trains manufactured in the United States. Watch our story A day in this role As a Rail Systems Electro-Mechanical Assembly Technician, you’ll move between benches and bays assembling electrical racks, panels, and harnesses that power high-speed rolling stock. Your morning starts by reviewing schematics, wire lists, bills of material, and work instructions. Through the day you’ll build control panels, route and terminate harnesses, verify torque and labeling, complete quality documentation, and accurately record labor time. You’ll operate hand and power tools, and at times—once certified—cranes, forklifts, and fall-protection equipment. Safety, craftsmanship, and schedule adherence are your constant guideposts. You’ll also share best practices, explaining procedures and techniques to teammates when needed.
