About The Position

The Rail Specialist will be responsible for unloading railcars, operating equipment, and maintaining accurate documentation and inventory. This role will be responsible for ensuring full compliance with all safety regulations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • MPA Rail Unloading certification or equivalent (or ability to obtain).
  • One to three months related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to regularly lift and /or move more than 50 pounds.
  • Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), when required.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Propane, Agriculture, and CDL experience preferred.
  • Active CDL with appropriate endorsements preferred or ability to obtain

Responsibilities

  • Operate equipment to assist with railcar placement and movement.
  • Unload railcars into inventory and maintain accurate inventory levels at all times.
  • Maintain open and professional communication.
  • Provide accurate documentation for unloaded railcars including railcar identification numbers.
  • Safely drive and operate trucks, vehicles, equipment, and tools in compliance with all regulations, company policies, manufacturer instructions, and all applicable federal, state, and local laws, and any other applicable laws, codes, and/or regulations.
  • Inspect and maintain facility, trucks and equipment to ensure cleanliness, safety, proper operation and positive cooperative image.
  • Report any issues to Management.
  • Assist the Sales Department with calls and potential sales target areas.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all work as required by company, division, and location policy.
  • Perform and/or coordinate routine maintenance including (but not limited to) facility and grounds maintenance.
  • Maintain a safe and clean workplace, free from refuse, debris, and unnecessary hazards.
  • Adhere to the Secure Site Plan.
  • Adhere to Federated policies and procedures and communicate to those loading at the facility.
  • Assist in other areas of our business as needed.
