About The Position

The Radiology Technician is responsible for performing all radiological procedures at South Boston Community Health Center in accordance with established standards, safety protocols, and quality expectations.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program
Current certification and registration as a Radiology Technologist
ARRT Certification (Required)
American Board of Radiology Certification (Required)
Mammography Certification (Required)

Nice To Haves

BLS Certification (Preferred)

Responsibilities

Set up radiology equipment and adjust controls according to specific diagnostic procedures, following established techniques and protocols.
Prepare patients for examinations, ensuring comfort, safety, and modesty throughout the procedure.
Lift and assist patients on and off examination tables or equipment as necessary to achieve optimal imaging results.
Position patients accurately to obtain required radiographic views based on established procedures and physician orders.
Clearly explain examination procedures to patients before beginning each study.
Apply protective shielding and adhere to all radiation safety standards and guidelines.
Report unusual incidents, unexpected patient conditions, safety hazards, or equipment issues to the supervisor promptly.
Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care to patients of all ages.
Maintain clean, organized work areas and ensure equipment is disinfected and prepared according to infection control procedures after each use.
Attend required in-service trainings and actively participate in quality improvement initiatives related to radiology services.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
