About The Position

Radiologic Technologist Hours - As Needed (PRN) A Radiology Tech is a Diagnostic Radiographer is responsible for performing a variety of technical procedures on patients of all ages which requires independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis and for assuming responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required. Requirements

  • HS diploma or equivalent
  • Holds Permit-to-Practice radiology in the state of Iowa.
  • Certified and holds current registration with the A.R.R.T. as a Radiologic Technologist.
  • Must be able to read and write English.
  • Includes those currently pursuing registration in Mammography, CT, or MRI.
  • If pursuing the Mammography, CT, or MRI tract, the technologist is required to successfully obtain their modality A.R.R.T. board examination within 18 months of completion of the orientation program.

Responsibilities

  • Performs diagnostic imaging procedures safely and accurately, ensuring proper patient identification, radiation protection, and high image quality.
  • Completes documentation and exam records correctly and on time; supports workflow and collaborates with team members.
  • Assists radiologists and physicians with procedures, contrast administration, and patient care, following all safety and medication protocols.
  • Operates and maintains radiology equipment properly; reports malfunctions and maintains clean, safe, and organized work areas.
  • Guides and supports patient flow, communication with nursing staff, patient transport, and the education/supervision of students.
