About The Position

Monterey Park Hospital, a 101-acute care facility located in the San Gabriel Valley of Los Angeles County, is seeking a Radiology Technologist for our Radiology department. This is a per diem, 8-hour variable shift position reporting to the Supervisor of Imaging and Director of Imaging Services.

Requirements

• Current CA certification from the CDPH as a Diagnostic Radiology and Fluoroscopy Technologist is required.
• New graduates have 90 days from hire date to complete the Fluoroscopy Certification.
• Completion of an AMA accredited program is required.
• Current BLS issued by AHA required.

Responsibilities

• The Radiology Technologist will be efficient in producing images of the body for diagnostic purposes under the direct supervision of the staff Radiologist.
• The Radiology Tech will explain procedures to the patients and position patients on the exam table.
• The Radiology Tech will select technique parameters in accordance with the ALARA principle.
• The Radiology Tech will review and evaluate digital images for quality to determine if images are satisfactory for diagnostic purposes.
• The Radiology Tech will utilize radiation safety measures and protective devices to comply with government regulations and ensure the safety of patients, visitors, and staff.
• The Radiology Tech will also be transporting patients to/from the hospital bed to the Radiology Department throughout the workday and maneuvering and positioning patients for imaging.
