A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A RADIOLOGY TECHNOLOGIST As a Radiology Technologist, you perform diagnostic imaging procedures in order to help our physicians determine a diagnosis and subsequent treatment plan. Demonstrating a patient-first approach to care, you act as an advocate for the patient, keeping their best interests at the forefront at all times. Before completing scans, you educate the patient on the procedure to reduce their anxiety and provide comfort. Then, you position the patient to ensure the best image possible and complete the procedure. You monitor patients' conditions and reactions and are sure to report any abnormal signs to the physician. Once complete, you check the quality of the images and repeat if necessary. Your attention to detail and accuracy are essential in determining the proper diagnosis for our orthopedic patients. You thrive in this fast-paced environment and get a great deal of satisfaction out of the relationships that you have cultivated with other professionals and your patients.

Requirements

  • Certification in Radiography by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
  • Active license with Illinois Emergency Management Administration (IEMA)

  • 2+ years of experience in radiography in a high volume orthopedic clinical setting (preferred)
  • Would you be able to manage a high volume workload?
  • Do you have a knack for taking the clearest image?

  • Are you friendly and able to connect well with others?
  • Do you work well both independently and in a team environment?
