About The Position

Are you a Radiologic Technologist looking for a dynamic role in a fast-paced surgical environment? At ACOM, we believe in teamwork, compassion, and clinical excellence. We’re currently seeking a Radiology Technician to join our collaborative surgical care team. Under the supervision of surgeons, registered nurses, and surgical staff, you'll play a vital role in assisting with diagnosing injuries and disease through radiographic procedures.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program (required)
  • ARRT Certification (required)
  • Knowledge of Universal Precautions and Aseptic Technique
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a team-oriented mindset

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred)
  • One year of experience in a surgical setting (preferred)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Promotes the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
  • Adhering to principles of Universal Precautions. Principles of Aseptic technique.
  • Performs radiographic examinations and procedures as prescribed by a physician utilizing proper technique.
  • Monitors and reports radiation safety issues to the Center’s Clinical Manager.
  • Maintain and use equipment and supplies necessary to demonstrate portions of the human body on x-ray film or fluoroscopic screen for diagnostic purposes.
  • Position x-ray equipment and adjust controls to set exposure factors, such as time and distance.
  • Use beam-restrictive devices and patient-shielding techniques to minimize radiation exposure to patient and staff.
  • Position patient on examining table and set up and adjust equipment to obtain optimum view of specific body area as requested by physician.
  • Process exposed radiographs using film processors or computer-generated methods.
  • Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxieties and obtain cooperation.
  • Maintains and safeguards films, prints, and records for each patient.
  • Contacts contract radiologist when film needs reading.
  • Assist with patient positioning. Assists with room turnover.
  • Assists with operation and general maintenance of radiologic supplies and equipment.
  • Documents concisely, precisely, and accurately on all records as indicated by policy.
  • Assures patient and personal safety by maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment and adhering to center staff, safety, and health programs.
  • Develops and maintains an effective working relationship with patients, families, visitors, and other health care team members.
  • Seeks guidance and validation when situations arise which exceed the employee’s capabilities.
  • Maintains and increases standards of performance and education.
  • Participates in quality assessment activities as directed for the continuous improvement of patient care.
  • Cross-train as an Instrument Technician and may be required to assume and perform said duties.
  • Regular, physical attendance on a predictable basis is essential to the performance of this job.
  • Maintains confidentiality of patients and center related business.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
