About The Position

The Part-time Radiology Technologist operates basic radiologic equipment to produce quality diagnostic images for injured and/or ill patients as directed by physicians. This role follows established departmental policies and procedures under the supervision of a radiologist and reports to the department Coordinator/Director. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology.
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and certified by the State Board of Health.
  • Proficiency in the operation of radiographic equipment and radiation safety practices.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to ensure image quality and diagnostic accuracy.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills to follow instructions and collaborate with team members.
  • Must have the physical ability and stamina to: Stand or walk for extended periods. Assist and position patients (up to 35 lbs unassisted; over 35 lbs with assistance). Push wheelchairs/carts up to 50 lbs. Perform CPR and other essential job functions safely.

Responsibilities

  • Perform radiologic procedures according to physician orders and departmental protocols.
  • Apply proper immobilization devices and utilize skilled positioning techniques for optimal imaging, including trauma and post-surgical cases.
  • Evaluate radiographs for technical quality to ensure accurate diagnosis while minimizing patient exposure.
  • Correctly use primary and secondary markers to identify images.
  • Adhere to universal precautions, ergonomic standards, and protective equipment requirements.
  • Identify and troubleshoot basic equipment issues; report problems for timely repair.
  • Ensure accurate patient identification and image labeling prior to submission to PACS.
  • Provide complete and accurate patient history to radiologists to aid diagnosis.
  • Verify exam charges and make necessary corrections in a timely manner.
  • Mark cases for radiologist dictation and communicate image corrections to appropriate personnel.
  • Participate in the orientation and training of new staff and students.
  • Maintain clean and fully stocked examination areas.
  • Report supply needs to the appropriate person.
  • Assist with quality control procedures as assigned by leadership.
  • Contribute to departmental effectiveness through teamwork, communication, and reliability.
  • Perform additional duties and shifts as required to support departmental needs.
  • Attend and participate in departmental meetings and mandatory training.
  • Complete required annual competencies, continuing education, and employee health requirements.
  • Maintain ARRT registration, state certification, and BCLS/CPR certification.
  • Follow all regulatory, safety, and infection control policies.
