About The Position

Memorial Community Health, Inc. in Aurora, NE is seeking a Radiologic Technologist/Lead Mammographer to join our Radiology team at Memorial Hospital. This position is full-time dayshift, with every 5th weekend and 1 evening/overnight per week of on call. The ideal candidate will provide expert diagnostic radiological imaging and patient care to assure a high level of quality care and service to patients, health care providers and customers in and outside the radiology department.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an AMA approved Radiologic Technology program
  • Two (2) years of prior experience preferred
  • CT experience preferred. If no CT experience, willing to train and able to demonstrate competency with 2 months
  • Mammography experience required
  • Currently registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT)
  • Licensed by the State of Nebraska as a Medical Radiographer
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Ability to take call and respond within 30 minutes

Nice To Haves

  • CT experience preferred. If no CT experience, willing to train and able to demonstrate competency with 2 months

Responsibilities

  • Performs radiological services by exemplifying the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform a variety of radiographic procedures utilizing ionizing radiation for radiographic diagnosis.
  • Maintains responsibility for the accurate assessment of the patient by determining their ability to comply with the physical requirements of the examination to minimize patient or examination problems.
  • Performs accurate and safe operation of imaging equipment and follows established safety procedures in order to protect the patient and staff from unnecessary radiation exposure or unnecessary exams.
  • Assesses the patient’s condition accurately by determining patient’s ability to comply with the physical requirements of the examination to minimize patient or examination problems. Provides competent, safe and effective patient care.
  • Practices sterile techniques and prevents cross contamination.
  • Prepares and uses necessary equipment.
  • Performs emergency treatment as required in accordance within scope of practice.
  • Performs and maintains documentation.
  • Promotes and ensures patient and staff safety in all aspects of responsibilities.
  • Follows HIPAA regulations and ensures that the confidentiality of residents’ medical, personal, financial records, employee records, and organizational records is maintained.
  • Complies, understands, and enforces state and federal regulatory requirements related to the performance of Memorial Community Health operations and requirements, including but not limited to HIPAA, the Code of Conduct, the Compliance Policy, Safety and Infection Control, all department and organization-wide policies, Critical Access Hospital requirements, and Federal and State of Nebraska regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
