About The Position

Unity Point St. Luke's- Downtown Full Time Weekend Package (36 hours weekly) Fri 9am-9p, Sat, Sun 8a-8p The Radiology Technologist I performs diagnostic X-ray exams (based on department needs) under the direction of a radiologist. The Radiology Technologist I provides compassionate direct patient care with an emphasis on maintaining organizational values and standards of behavior. The Radiology Technologist I operates diagnostic X-ray equipment to produce diagnostic images of designated portions of the body. The Radiology Technologist I is required to participate in an on-call rotation outside of business hours based on department needs and must be able to work some weekends and holidays. Requirements

Graduation of Radiology program accredited through the American Registry of Radiologic Technology approved by IDPH required.
None.
Valid driver's license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons required.
American Registry of Radiology Technologist required.
Iowa Department of Health Permit to Practice required.
Current CPR/BCLS certification or obtained within 30 days for new hire.

Responsibilities

Correlates the Diagnostic exam with other tests & preparations to best pronounce the disease process.
Produces high quality imaging procedures with precision, accuracy, and in a timely manner for the Radiologist to interpret. Assists Radiologists, other physicians & peers with procedures.
Is attentive to detail and accuracy, is committed to excellence Is responsible for their own actions and actively works to improve in areas that are lacking.
Proactively identifies problems and communicates these concerns with Diagnostic Leader, seeks out new responsibilities, acts on opportunities, generates new ideas, practices self-development & continuous learning.
Practices & monitors radiation protection for patients, employees & oneself during all procedures
Disposes of all body fluids, hazardous materials, and chemicals in an appropriate manner according to OSHA standards and guidelines.
Adheres to hospital & departmental safety regulations, guidelines, policies, procedures, & protocols.
Accountability for completing daily departmental tasks, completing work either in a team or independent setting. Team work in all aspects including patient care in other areas if warranted.
Rotates through schedules & all areas of Diagnostic responsibilities as assigned by the Diagnostic Leader.
