About The Position

As a Radiology Technician, you will play a critical role in the healthcare team by performing diagnostic imaging examinations that assist physicians in diagnosing and treating medical conditions. Your expertise in operating radiologic equipment will ensure high-quality images are produced while maintaining patient safety and comfort. You will be responsible for preparing patients for procedures, explaining the process, and positioning them correctly to capture accurate images. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to review images and ensure proper documentation. Your work directly contributes to effective patient care and the overall success of the medical facility.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • Certification or licensure as a Radiologic Technologist as required by the state or country of practice.
  • Basic life support (BLS) certification.
  • Strong understanding of radiologic safety and radiation protection principles.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with advanced imaging modalities such as CT or MRI.
  • Additional certifications such as ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) specialty certifications.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and digital imaging software.
  • Experience working in a hospital or clinical setting.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain radiologic equipment to perform diagnostic imaging procedures such as X-rays, CT scans, and fluoroscopy.
  • Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process, answering questions, and ensuring their comfort and safety.
  • Position patients accurately to obtain the best possible images while minimizing exposure to radiation.
  • Review images for quality and clarity, and assist radiologists by providing necessary technical information.
  • Maintain patient records and imaging logs in compliance with healthcare regulations and privacy standards.
  • Adhere to safety protocols to protect patients, staff, and self from unnecessary radiation exposure.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to coordinate patient care and follow-up imaging needs.
