About The Position

Radiology Support Associate must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skill to provide care appropriate to the age of their patients; demonstrate knowledge of growth and development; access data reflective of the patients status; and identify each patient' requirements relative to age specific needs.

Requirements

  • Generally requires 0 to 3 years of related experience.
  • High School diploma is required.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and any additional applicable life support certification for Healthcare Providers is required upon hire with at least 6 months validity and maintenance at JHS for the duration of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares patients, equipment, and procedure rooms before and after each exam.
  • Maintains a strong understanding of growth and development principles for patients across all age groups.
  • Assesses patient data and interprets information to determine age-specific needs.
  • Maintains a clean, safe, and aesthetically pleasing work environment.
  • Disposes of trash, sharps, and linens according to assigned procedures at the end of each shift.
  • Uses the Hospital Information System (HIS) and verifies inpatient locations by phone before arranging or transporting patients.
  • Transports patients to and from Radiology Holding Areas and other designated locations.
  • Assists patients entering and exiting the Radiology Department while protecting their privacy.
  • Directs visitors and patients to appropriate areas within the facility.
  • Adheres to the organization's Standards of Excellence at all times.
  • Respects patient rights, privacy, and property, maintaining confidentiality in accordance with policies, laws, and regulations.
  • Maintains current CPR certification.
  • Follows all infection control policies and procedures, including Universal Precautions.
  • Complies with departmental dress code requirements.
  • Assists coworkers as part of the healthcare team and performs related duties as needed.
  • Rotates within the department as required.
  • Participates in required educational programs, including HIS training, safety, infection control, AIDS awareness, and age-related care.
  • Participates in quality improvement activities to support continuous enhancement of services.
  • Demonstrates service excellence and CARE values (Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Expertise).
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned.
