About The Position

The Radiology Supervisor at MUSC Midlands plays a critical role in ensuring the effective and efficient operation of the radiology department. This position requires a blend of leadership, clinical expertise, and administrative acumen. The Radiology Supervisor will oversee all aspects of radiology services, from staff management to patient care, equipment maintenance, and regulatory compliance. Proficiency in radiologic procedures and the use of imaging equipment.
Ability to manage budgets and departmental finances.
Knowledge of regulatory requirements and quality assurance standards.
Bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Technology or a related field
Minimum of 5 years of experience in radiology, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification required.
State licensure in radiologic technology.
6 years progressive work experience and 1 years management experience
State licensure and/or professional certification requirement/s dependent on position.
Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required

Master’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

Supervise and lead a team of radiologic technologists and support staff.
Conduct regular team meetings to communicate departmental goals and updates.
Provide mentorship, coaching, and performance evaluations for staff.
Oversee daily operations of the radiology department, ensuring efficient workflow and patient throughput.
Develop and implement departmental policies and procedures.
Coordinate staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage and minimal downtime.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations as well as hospital policies.
Monitor and maintain quality control standards for all imaging procedures.
Oversee the maintenance and calibration of radiology equipment.
Ensure high standards of patient care and safety are maintained.
Address and resolve patient concerns and complaints promptly and professionally.
Foster a patient-centered environment and promote patient satisfaction.
Manage departmental budgets, including supply inventory and equipment purchases.
Prepare and submit reports on departmental performance and metrics.
Participate in departmental and hospital-wide committees as needed.
Coordinate ongoing education and training for radiology staff.
Ensure staff certifications and licensures are up-to-date.
Implement new technologies and procedures, providing necessary training to staff.
