About The Position

Position Summary: A professional nurse who possesses and demonstrates clinical skills and knowledge appropriate for the care of the patient undergoing any imaging procedure at Eisenhower Imaging Center. Utilizes the nursing process to plan, direct and coordinate care for a safe experience. Ensures that all patients' needs are met and evaluates/monitors delivery of nursing care.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent & Completion of Accredited Nursing Program
  • 3 years nursing
  • CA RN License & BLS (required)
  • ACLS & PALS (recommended)

Responsibilities

  • Starts IV safely and competently in addition to managing and treating IV infiltrations
  • Performs pre-procedure assessments, preparation and post-procedure care.
  • Provides timely, accurate and precise reporting of any change in patient condition to the radiologist.
  • Appropriately assesses, treats, and manages patients for contrast allergies, renal function, diabetes, claustrophobia, etc.
  • Administers and documents medications, ensuring patient safety following Federal guidelines.
  • Co-manages the care of all outpatients/inpatients PET/CTs to include scheduling, interviewing, preparation and transportation.
  • Assists all technologists in the care of any patient with special needs.
  • Assists technologist or other center personnel in managing patients through each modality as needed.
  • Orders all supplies related to the Imaging Center as assigned and appropriate.
  • Manages medical emergencies under the guidance of the radiologists.
  • Maintains all nursing and medical emergency equipment.
  • Monitors oxygen supply.
  • Demonstrates implementation skills in accordance with EIC Standards of Care, policies, procedures, and Nurse Practice Act.
  • Demonstrates competency in the operation of equipment specific to clinical area.
  • Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation when delivering nursing care.
  • Participates in development and evaluation of patient care related policy and procedures.
  • Practices accurate and timely completion of scheduled and unscheduled work to maximize productivity.
  • Adheres to radiation safety guidelines under the direction of the technologists and/or radiologists.
  • Provide for patient care; comfort, safety and patient confidentiality.
  • Ability to manage high patient volumes.
  • Cooperates fully in all risk management activities and investigations.
  • Treats all information and data within the scope of the position with complete confidentiality and security.
  • Responsible to keep license current and provide copy on annual basis.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Good problem solving skills.
