About The Position

Under the direction and supervision of the Director of Radiology and Medical Directors, the Radiology Manager is responsible for the effective and efficient flow of daily workloads as well as oversight of all team members. Oversees the daily operations of a medical imaging department, ensuring high-quality patient care, efficient workflow, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Manages staff, budgets, and equipment while collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to optimize imaging services and improve departmental performance. Ensures patient safety and compliance with all mandates. Must possess an excellent knowledge of good technical quality in reviewing radiographs as well as the ability to assist and direct other technical personnel in daily job duties. Always demonstrates practices that promote the Mission and Vision of UHS and Lakewood Ranch Medical Center. Always demonstrates Service Excellence. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • Satisfactory completion of formal radiological training in an approved school required.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of prior management, supervisory or equivalent leadership experience required.
  • Registered by ARRT, ARDMS or NMTCB. Also Licensed by the State of Florida.
  • Knowledge of Regulatory requirements of the State and Radioactive Materials License.
  • Certified in at least one Imaging modality, preferable Radiology, required.
  • Mid-level to Advanced computer skills.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills, and customer service skills required.

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Staff Management: Recruits, trains, schedules, and evaluates radiology technologists and support staff while promoting a positive work environment. Functions as first in command in the absence of the Director.
  • Team Development: Assists in orientation, training, and evaluation of staff, providing support, guidance, and development opportunities.
  • Operational Oversight: Ensures smooth day-to-day operations, including scheduling staff across all shifts and modalities while maintaining quality and productivity.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Maintains compliance with healthcare regulations, safety standards, accreditation requirements, and ensures regulatory readiness.
  • Patient Care & Collaboration: Prioritizes patient-centered care, coordinates with physicians and nurses, and works with the Director to meet corporate and local goals.
  • Budget & Inventory Management: Develops and manages the department’s budget, oversees inventory supply, and ensures proper equipment maintenance.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Oversees calibration, procurement, and daily performance of imaging equipment, serving as a resource for staff.
  • Quality Assurance & Performance Improvement: Monitors image quality, patient safety, productivity, and implements strategies to improve efficiency and outcomes.
  • Other duties as assigned.
