The Radiology Manager is responsible for planning, organizing and directing all aspects of our private practice Radiology Department. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Completion of course in radiologic technology approved by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
  • Current certification (AART) with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
  • Minimum three years experience as radiologic technologist
  • Two years supervisory experience including administrative/budgetary duties.
  • Principles, practices, techniques of radiology to direct and backup the activities of staff.
  • Radiology standards to monitor and evaluate work of technologists.
  • Anatomy and physiology sufficient to pinpoint area for radiography.
  • Radiology equipment and testing to determine needs and evaluate equipment for purchase.
  • Safety requirements to provide instructions and to recognize and correct hazardous conditions.
  • Anticipating and reacting calmly to emergency situations, identifying and resolving problems.
  • Writing reports and preparing correspondence.
  • Developing and maintaining department quality assurance.
  • Providing guidance and instruction to technologist.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and the public.
  • Evaluate utilization statistics and other data and make program recommendations.
  • Determine budget needs and maintain expenditures within budget.
  • Communicate clearly and establish/maintain effective working relationships with staff.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

Responsibilities

  • Manages radiologic services in accordance with clinical and governmental standards and within an established budget.
  • Facilitates the development and achievement of mission, goals, policies, budget, work methods.
  • Evaluates and maintains the quality of radiographs and films, procedures and services.
  • Selects, orients/trains, monitors, evaluates department staff including radiology technologists.
  • Reviews department performance and ensures compliance, accreditation, legal and other regulatory requirements.
  • Collects/analyzes data, prepares and presents information/statistics for administrative and regulatory purposes.
  • Serves as liaison with medical staff.
  • Ensures maintenance of equipment and materials. Researches and introduces new equipment and techniques and conducts related in-services.
  • Monitors patient flow, handles complaints, uses TQM methods to improve methods and systems.
  • Creates department staff schedules, approves PTO based on department needs and performs time and attendance for bi weekly payroll.
  • Orders departmental supplies per approved budget
