About The Position

This position provides quality patient care and supports various radiology technologists (general, ultrasound, mammography, MRI, CT, Cath Lab, and Interventional Radiology). The role is responsible for film filing and image management functions, working with all departments, patients, and providers to ensure necessary images/reports are available within the EMR and PACS. It also involves performing general clerical duties to maintain radiology record management and may assist in providing diagnostic radiographic procedures according to standards and guidelines.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or its equivalent
  • Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older to be eligible for employment
  • Obtains and subsequently maintains required department-specific competencies and certifications

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provides quality patient care
  • Supports the general, ultrasound, mammography, MRI, CT, Cath Lab, and Interventional Radiology technologists
  • Responsible for film filing and image management functions
  • Works with all departments, patients, and providers to ensure necessary images/reports are available within the EMR and PACS
  • Performs general clerical duties to maintain radiology record management
  • May assist in providing diagnostic radiographic procedures according to standards and guidelines
  • Performs image management within the PACS system, such as order entry, image reconciliation, importing/exporting imaging exams and reports
  • Able to perform reception duties, including clerical and filing to include reports into patient charts, locating, retrieving, and delivering patient records when needed
  • Serves as an ambassador of goodwill in providing department services to all clinical and non-clinical personnel
  • Ensures proper protection of patient's confidential information
  • Knowledge of the EMR to view imaging history and to document release of imaging exams
  • Works with HIM for release of imaging records following established HIPAA rules and regulations
  • Ability and willingness to perform other duties as assigned
