About The Position

Shady Grove Medical Center seeks to hire an experienced Radiology Aide for its Ultrasound Department. The role's mission is to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing. The Radiology Aide will assist technologists in expediting patient examinations, ensuring excellent patient relations, and demonstrating RISE values. Key duties include transporting patients to and from the Ultrasound department, preparing patients for imaging exams, and maintaining effective workflow. The aide is also responsible for proper patient identification, accurate documentation in various computer systems (HIS, RIS, teletracking, PACS), and assisting with inventory management. Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

Nice To Haves

• 1 year of x-ray school, preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist technologists to expedite patient examinations while maintaining excellent patient relations and demonstrating our RISE values.
• Transport of patients to and from the Ultrasound department in collaboration with other departments.
• Assist the modality in preparing the patient for the imaging exam and care of the patient. This includes Patient preparation and clean up, transferring the patient from mode of transportation to the imaging table and maintaining effective workflow.
• Properly identify patients to maximize quality, compassionate, safe patient care and processing of patient information in the modality and follows all patient safety procedures including handoffs.
• Accurately perform documentation in all computer systems pertinent to the modality (HIS, RIS, teletracking, PACS).
• Assist in maintaining inventory.
• Other duties as assigned.
