About The Position

Zeno Power is seeking a highly motivated Radiological Facility Manager to lead safe, compliant, and effective operations of Zeno's radiological facility in the Bay Area to support the mission-oriented efforts of fabricating and bringing to market Radioisotope Power Systems (RPS) technologies. In this role you will be responsible for coordinating operations, radiological safety, maintenance, and compliance activities, and ensuring execution of facility work planning and readiness as the organization scales operations.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Nuclear Engineering, Health Physics, Radiation Protection, Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline; advanced degree preferred.
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in radiological or nuclear facility operations, with demonstrated leadership accountability.
  • Prior experience in radiological facility management required.
  • Experience managing radiological safety programs, facility operations, or related work in regulated environments.
  • Deep understanding of radiological work planning and control, regulatory compliance, radiological protection, and ALARA principles.
  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and influence cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Strong judgment, communication, and decision-making skills, particularly in high-consequence settings.
  • Ability to manage and support numerous simultaneous tasks that require a multi-disciplinary approach.
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Position requires daily in-office presence at a radiological facility in the Bay Area
  • Must be able to work in radiologically controlled areas and comply with facility and safety requirements

  • Experience supporting regulatory inspections and interactions with federal or state oversight bodies preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the radiological facility, including facility readiness, execution, and continuous improvement of operational processes.
  • Lead cross-functional team responsible for operations, radiological safety, radiation protection professionals (HPs/RCTs), maintenance, and work planning.
  • Develop and maintain facility procedures, performance expectations, work control and integration, and readiness review processes supporting radiological operations and maintenance activities.
  • Ensure implementation and consistent application of radiological safety standards, including ALARA principles, work authorizations, hazard analyses, and radiological controls across all facility activities.
  • Provide leadership and decision-making for safety, compliance, and operations, including exercising stop-work authority when necessary.
  • Oversee radiological work planning, work authorizations, and implementation of radiological controls.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to embed radiological and operational considerations into project execution, design and engineering, and regulatory applications.
  • Support regulatory engagements, compliance, and audits, coordinating closely with the landlord’s facility manager and site license holder.
  • Serve as Zeno's lead for interfacing and integrating with landlord's planning and operations.
  • Identify gaps in staffing, training, and infrastructure, and drive corrective and improvement initiatives.
  • Guide continuous improvement efforts to enhance facility performance, procedural rigor, and overall nuclear safety culture.
  • Support incident response, investigations, and corrective action implementation appropriate to the radiological operating environment.
