DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: Works as part of a team including the Chief Technologist, Administrative Director, and Radiologists to provide a high standard of care to all of our patients to include fluoroscopy, general diagnostic, operating room, trauma room, and portable procedures. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Able to prioritize exams/ Recognizes what needs to be done. Able to manipulate all Radiographic equipment including Paragon, CR, and PACS Cleans and stocks assigned area. Properly identifies self/Properly identifies patient using two identifiers. Reviews physician orders and ensures correct exam is ordered. Obtains and documents pertinent patient history. Communicates with patient and exhibits patience and empathy Adheres to established Radiology, timeout, sterile, and post procedure protocols. Undertake and perform radiology examinations requested to a high level of radiographic skill Adhere to Radiation Safety protocols. Be punctual in reporting for your shift and on a call out. Wears name badge and dresses according to LCMH policy Participates in the department on call rotation including weekdays, weekends, and holidays Promote a pleasant, enthusiastic, and caring attitude with co-workers and patients. Adhere to health and safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. Have a flexible approach to all duties within the team and be available for extra shifts. EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE Registered Radiographer with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, or registry eligible. Current La state licensure for professional imaging technologists. CPR certification. Must maintain required hours of in-service per year to meet requirements for CEUs as stipulated by the AART. Physical Demands/Work Environment Ability to communicate with patient, family, peers and medical personnel. Able to work under pressure while maintaining a calm and professional attitude. Must be adaptable to change, decisive, and demonstrate foresight. Ability to concentrate on detailed work with constant interruption; to understand and relate to specific ideas. Work requires a variety of physical activities including standing and walking for long periods of time, bending, stooping, and lifting. The work environment may be physically confining. Must be able to exchange accurate information with patients, family, peers and medical personnel.
