About The Position

If you’re a Radiologic Technologist who enjoys leading by example and keeping patient care at the center of everything you do, this Team Lead opportunity at WakeMed Cary Hospital may be the next step you’re looking for. Our Radiology Team Lead plays a key role in supporting the daily workflow of the diagnostic imaging section, ensuring safe, high-quality, and compassionate services across the shift. In this role, you’ll act as both a hands-on technologist and a go-to resource for your teammates—helping guide workflow, support training, and elevate the overall patient and team experience. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, communicates clearly, and enjoys mentoring others while maintaining strong technical skills.

Requirements

  • 6 months of clinical radiology experience — Required
  • 3 years of clinical radiology experience — Required
  • Registered Technologist – Radiography (ARRT) — Required
  • Graduate Radiologic Technology Required

Nice To Haves

  • Leadership experience — Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate the daily workflow of diagnostic imaging services on your assigned shift.
  • Serve as the point person for staff when supervisors or managers are not present, ensuring consistent operations and timely patient care.
  • Support the orientation, education, and ongoing training of Radiology employees, partnering closely with management.
  • Function as a liaison between team members and leadership, helping communicate priorities, updates, and process improvements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve patient safety, service quality, and operational efficiency.
  • Participate in safety and quality initiatives, including programs designed to reduce error and improve patient outcomes.
  • Maintain your role as a practicing technologist, demonstrating high standards of clinical quality and patient-centered care.
