JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS Scheduled Weekly Hours: TBD Work Shift: Variable Shifts: Days, Evenings & Weekends Summary of the Job: Responsible for the safe manipulation of radiographic equipment, positioning of patients, use of radiation protection devices, selection of technical factors necessary to produce optimum quality radiographs, the tracking of patient studies and PACS acquisition of the study performed. This employee may be asked to perform any other delegated tasks related to the proper function of the Radiology Department.

Requirements

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited radiology technology program.
  • A.R.R.T. registered in Radiology, state licensed in radiology by the LSRT.
  • New graduates may present a temporary LSRT license and must have a permanent A.R.R.T. and LSRT license within 60 days upon completion of Radiology technology program.
  • Current BLS certification through any International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) provided courses such as but not limited to: Ochsner Health System, American Heart Association, and American Red Cross. The ILCOR course must include a manikin check off.
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment with patients of all types and ages.
  • Must possess strong guest relations skills.
  • Must possess good physical health.
  • Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time.
  • Lifting at least 50 pounds is required.
  • Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise.
